Prior to the Events of The Dragonbone Chair[]

Jeremias' father died of the chest-fever.

The Dragonbone Chair[]

Jeremias and Simon train together with the hope of of becoming soldiers. The exercise causes Jeremias to begin to lose weight.

When Morgenes takes Simon hunting for supplies in the forest, Jeremias and Isaak are brought along. While in the forest, Jeremias discovers a corpse, later revealed to be one of Isgrimnur's men.

After months of training, Jeremias and Simon apply to Lord Breyugar to become soldiers. Despite delivering a written recommendation from Morgenes, the Lord declines and declares them unfit.

Stone of Farewell[]

When Jakob is driven from the Hayholt by Elias' soldiers, Jeremias attempts to follow him, but is captured by the Erkyngard and given to Inch. The cruel master of the forge declares Jeremias his apprentice and

When he is allowed to go upstairs on an errand, Jeremias escapes and goes to Rachel's chamber. There he relays his story to her and the other chamber maids. He also informs Rachel that it was Pryrates who killed Simon. After his tale is finished and he is all cleaned up, Rachel insists that the other maids let Jeremias sleep. Later, she dresses the boy up as a chambermaid in order to smuggle him out of the city.

To Green Angel Tower[]

Jeremias makes his way to Sesuad'ra, where he is united with Simon. When the former is made a knight, Jeremias is given the position of his squire.

The boy takes up care of the silent Leleth, who he mentions remembering having seen around the castle back when she was Miriamele's handmaiden.

During the Battle of the Lake of Glass, Jeremias acts as a messenger between Josua and Hotvig.

When Leleth falls into her unwaking sleep Jeremias is deeply worried for her and spends a great deal of time at her bedside.

Jeremias is among Josua's company as they fight their way through Osten Ard to the Hayholt. He acts as a squire and a messenger for a number of important figures. After the final battle is over, Jeremias finds the disgruntled Rachel wandering through the celebration and brings her to Simon.

A year later Jeremias is among Simon's staff in the Hayholt. At the celebration he is slated to sing while Sangfugol plays.
